Trojans Look to End First OVC Road Trip with Two Tennessee Wins

After a win at the University of Tennessee-Martin Thursday night, the Little Rock women's basketball team is looking for the Ohio Valley Conference road-series sweep.

The Trojans (4-8, 2-1) travel  to Nashville to face Tennessee State University (4-9, 0-3) at 1 p.m., Saturday. The game can be heard on The Sports Animal 920 AM with Trey Schaap on the call and will also be streamed live on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Little Rock used a strong fourth quarter to defeat UT Martin Thursday night. The Trojans didn't hold their first lead until the 8:23 mark in the final quarter. With Faith Lee leading the way with 26 points, the Trojans pushed in the final two minutes to pull away from UTM, taking a 66-61 win.  Jordan Holman added 14 points and Emerald Parker chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds.

FOLLOW THE (LEE)DER
Trojans junior guard Faith Lee has made a habit of scoring in bunches. Lee has scored in double figures in 10 of 12 games, five of those with 20-plus points, and netted a career-high 31 points in a win over SIUE in the league opener. In the win over UT Martin, Lee totaled 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. She averages 15.8 points per game.

THE SERIES
Little Rock leads the series 4-1 and is undefeated at home. However, the lone loss of the series came in Nashville last season as TSU took an 83-78 win in overtime. The Trojans are 1-1 all time at TSU.

FIRST LOOK: TENNESSEE STATE
The Tigers have had a rough start to the year, facing a challenging nonconference schedule. TSU looks to get their first Ohio Valley Conference win after losses to Southern Indiana, Morehead State, and Southeast Missouri.

In the 75-68 loss to SEMO on Thursday, guard Aaniya Webb posted 21 points, while four other players scored in double figures. Lyric Cole had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Tigers' defense forced 22 turnovers, scoring 20 points off the miscues. The Tigers' offense crashed the glass, grabbing 17 rebounds and scoring 18 second-chance points.

The Trojans and Tigers both welcome first-year head coaches in Steve Wiedower and Candice Dupree. Wiedower was an assistant for many years under legendary head coach Joe Foley. Dupree is a seven-time WNBA All-Star and a former assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs.
